-- Flash Renamer Portable Readme --------------------------------------

This folder contains a portable version of Flash Renamer. It is exactly
the same application as the "normal" version, with these modifications:

-- No installer -------------------------------------------------------

No installation is required - simply unpack and run the program.
Obviously you will not get any icons on your desktop or start menu, or
similar. In case you want to update, simply copy the content of the
Settings folder from the old version to the new version.

-- Settings are stored locally ----------------------------------------

All settings are contained in the application folder. Nothing is written
to the host system. This means that you can simply copy or move this
folder to a new location and the settings will go with it. Because of
this, it is important to make sure that the application is allowed to
write to its own folder, or else no settings will be saved.

-- Launcher -----------------------------------------------------------

On order to make the root folder less cluttered a "launcher" has been
added there. All it does is to start the "real" exe (in the app folder).
This may have a side effect in some cases, since there are actually two
exe files involved. For example, if you want to pin the program to the
taskbar in Windows, you should pin the real exe instead of the launcher,
since you'll otherwise see two icons in the task bar when it's running.

-- Shell integration ---------------------------------------------------

Flash Renamer can integrate itself with the shell and show a convenient
menu when right clicking in Windows Explorer. Becuase this menu modifies
the host system, Flash Renamer will not register the menu in portable mode.

It is however still possible to manually activate the shell extensions
menu. To do so, open a new command prompt, but make sure you run it as
admin (press Windows, type cmd, right click on the cmd.exe icon and
select "Run as Administrator"). Navigate to the Flash Renamer folder, then
to the "Settings" folder and finally to "KuShellExt". Here run installXX.cmd.

Remember that you need to manually uninstall this if you want to delete or
move the Flash Renamer folder. (Even after running uninstallXX.cmd, you may
need to restart your computer before you can delete/move the folder.)

In addition to the above menu, Flash Renamer can also put itself on the
"send to" menu in Windows Explorer. This option is still available in the
portable version, but please note that activating it will write to the
system host, and thus breaking the rules of portable software.
